Princess Farhana has performed, taught, and written about Oriental Dance for fourteen years. She has appeared in France, Egypt, Switzerland, Mexico, and Canada, as well as all over the US, and danced at concerts with Amr Diab, Hakim, Natacha Atlas, and Alabina. She's been featured in numberous motion pictures, television shows and in documentary films both dancing and as an interview subject. She has danced in videos for Madonna, Ricky Martin, and R&B artist Truth Hurts. She is a regular contributor to Habibi Magazine and discoverbellydance.com, and has written about Oriental Dance in many mainstream publications as well. She has put on a number of dance events, theatrical shows and fund-raisers in Los Angeles, as well as a monthly belly dance showcase at Moun of Tunis Restaurant in Hollywood, where she has been a soloist for more than a dozen years. Princess Farhana and director Augusta have produced four videos, which all include performances as well as Farhana'a unique teaching, with impeccable technical breakdowns and easy-to-follow instruction.
Trained in the Egyptian style by the greats of Oriental Dance (Zahra Zuhair in Los Angeles and Ragia Hassan in Cairo, among others) Farhana draws inspiration from the classical but is also well known as an adventurous, high-concept fusion performer. She is known for her balancing specialties as well as her outrageous belly rolls and undulations. Her warmth, enthusiasm, and adventurous spirit-- both on and off stage-- captivate audiences and students alike.
