Ansuya first has you work through the basic hip, ribcage and shoulder isolations, then go through them again with a shimmy. She draws from an American Nightclub style background so there is a lot of upper body work. These isolations are basic to almost all styles of bellydance, however.
Then you practice the isolations as a flow, first without and then with a shimmy. There are also two performances.
The basics would be great for a beginner to supplement her classes with extra practice. It's also a good review for intermediate and above dancers. Each isolation is practiced long enough to "feel" it. While she does not go into great detail on breakdowns, she does give some good tips.
This dvd regularly appears in my drill rotation and has for quite a while. It is one that you will find useful longterm.
